Our approach as an organization is an ecological approach where we are able to identify the different areas in a client’s life that need assistance and trying our best to address this as best as we can. Failing which, reaching out to those who are in a position to help to do so. We also have an appreciation for the health and well-being of mothers and caregivers, how the depreciation of that has a direct impact on the health and well-being of their children. As a result, the intersectionality between Violence against Children (VAC) and Violence against Women (VAW) can no longer be ignored and our strategy considers the INSPIRE and RESPECT Frameworks.
This strategy calls things for what they are and allows us to potentially access more resources for curbing these twin social ills. For us prevention is still king and more economical. Even as we continue to support those that survive abuse through counselling, no child, woman or man should face being abused as the most prominent scenario to take place in one’s life.
